Talulah is a modern interpretation of the tiki bars of 1940s and 50s. We pay homage to the ideas of tiki pioneers like Don the Beachcomber and Trader Vic, their focus on the concepts of escapism and hospitality inform everything we do. We also take cues from our modern day contemporaries around the world such as Dirty Dick, Three Dots and a Dash and Smuggler's Cove.
Our fit out features a beautiful mural of an otherworldly tropical scene, lush green foliage and bright splashes of colour. These elements, combined with a beautiful view across Auckland Harbour, help to transport our guests to a tropical South Pacific paradise in which they can forget their troubles. Our drinks are also a key piece of the equation. We have a large list of tropical libations for our guests to choose from. The list contains classic tropical drinks from previous decades, a selection of recipes from our friends around the world and our very own tiki inspired creations.
Our drinks use fresh juices, custom made syrups, house produced infusions and of course, many fine Caribbean rums to create flavour profiles that help the drinker escape the ordinary. Amongst our colourful collection of cocktails are large format drinks designed for you and your friends to share.
At Talulah, we offer table service and our well trained staff ensure that our guests want for nothing, they are also well versed in the intricacies of the menu so they are well equipped to help with the sometimes tricky job of choosing your next drink. Solid refreshment is supplied by our friends downstairs at The Chamberlain and includes, amongst other dishes, deep-fried pies. All of the elements of Talulah come together to transform our little bar into a portal to a mystical place where troubles are forgotten and fun is mandatory.
